Team DreamQuest

Team DreamQuest erupts at both the 2013 JR USA and 2013 Oregon Ironman!

jr nats competitors

Team DreamQuest had a sensational weekend in coast to coast action (literally!) in the first National show and first Oregon regional show of the year taking in 44 competitors and taking home 37 trophies, including 10 1st place finishes and 2 Overalls!!

On the east coast Kim Isom Moore, Kelli Schrader, and Nick Holt all placed 4th in their class in Figure and Men’s Physique at JR USAs! Kate Kennedy and Wade Hayes placed in the top 15 both placing 14th with Damir still trying to climb in to the placings after winning his class at the Emerald Cup just 2 weeks prior! What a great accomplishment for our team with Kim, Kelli, Nick, Kate, Damir, and Wade all representing what we are about at the the first National contest of the year! National contest season has officially begun with JR Nationals up next on 6/14 in Chicago where we will have another strong team presence! Awesome!!

2013 or ironman fran paola overall

On the west coast, our team blew the doors off the Oregon Ironman taking in 38 competitors and coming home with 34 trophies or pretty much a 90% hit rate! It was an incredible achievement that was highlighted by an unparalleled performance in the Bikini division where we had 14 placings including both Masters and Open Overall Awards!

2013 or ironman bikini walk

Paola Terry led the charge coming down from Anchorage Alaska to qualify for her National run by winning the Open Bikini Overall which was presented to her by our own IFBB Bikini Pro Francesca Yumul who won the 2012 Oregon Ironman Bikini Overall last year! Naomi Maghinay gave Paola a run for her money winning the Masters Bikini Overall, then her Open Bikini class, and then challenging for the Open Bikini Overall along side team mate Reuntae Piho who also won her class! It was a bit surreal watching all this happen and was a memorable moment for the girls and our team!

It is difficult to put in to words what has been happening but it is nothing short of amazing what this team has accomplished this month let alone for the year! This is our 13th and 14th show of 2013 and now things continue to heat up as we go in to the California State and NY Pro this coming weekend! Congrats to everyone on this crazy weekend! Let’s keep this momentum rolling!

Team DreamQuest overall count increases at the Empire Classic!

2013 Empire Dustin
Dustin Buyes followed up his Emerald Cup win last week moving up a class to middleweight to take the Overall at the 2013 Empire Classic! Dustin brought in a ripped up, full, and confident look that helped him shine like a diamond in the line up with the classic DreamQuest look that people have come to expect from our competitors! It was an awesome sight watching Dustin compete with a great overall lineup and come away with the night’s top bodybuilding award!

Sonny Sando made his Men’s Physique debut placing 3rd representing the team with pride! Sonny has great potential and will only improve with time.

powerhouse pro collage
Kiana, Nicole and Francesca all took improved looks in to Detroit but resulted in an unexpected outcome at the first year of this new pro show. Francesca was able to get near the top 10 placing 11th after placing 6th 3 weeks prior at the Orlando show. Kiana and Nicole both missed the top 15 while bringing in noticeable improvements and top 15 placings from the Governors Cup.

As a whole our team had yet another excellent weekend and will look to blow the doors off next weekend at the JR USA and Oregon Ironman! Hang on cause its going to continue to be craziness!

Team DreamQuest soars to new heights at the 2013 Emereld Cup!

2013 Emerald stage
Team DreamQuest continues to raise the bar and push in to uncharted territory entering 58 competitor entries and taking home 42 trophies including 4 overalls *and* both Team Awards at the 2013 Emerald Cup!!

It is hard to put in to words the level of accomplishment that just happened but I will try my best!

2013 sheia and kim
The first day was Figure & Fitness day and was highlighted by Sheia Malmoe winning the Open Figure Overall and Kim Goeden winning the Masters Figure Overall! Sheia just competed at the Big Sky and followed the Emerald adjustment plan to perfection and was rewarded for her efforts! Kim is a DreamQuest captain and does what Kim does bringing it in for every show always leading by example!

2013 alex and lindsey
Day 2 was Men’s Physique and Bikini day highlighted by Alex Atanasov winning the Men’s Physique Open Overall and Lindsey Wells winning the Bikini Open Overall! Alex has been steadily improving his game with this win being the biggest of his career! When I asked the judges for feedback the answer was don’t change anything. I agree! I only had 2 weeks to dial Lindsey in for the Emerald but she was meticulous in her prep and made the necessary changes to take her game to the next level in only her 4th show! Incredible!!!

All our Overall winners brought their A game to compete against maybe the toughest competitive field I have seen making the wins that much more meaningful!

Vivian Aiello picked the right time to put it all together taking first in her class in Bikini! It has been a long road for this up and comer and it is a beautiful thing seeing her grow and succeed on stage!

Damir Delic continued building momentum toward the national shows winning his class in Men’s Physique. He battled team mate Alex for the Overall but it was just Alex’s day. Damir will look to the Jr USA in 2 weeks to see if his winning ways continue!

Tammy Ross brought in her best package to date winning her class in Women’s Physique. She battled team mate Teresa Jordan narrowly beating her in a tie breaker for first! Exciting to see this trend with multiple DreamQuest competitors in the top callouts and overall battles!

Dustin Buyes found redemption from his 4th place finish at last years Emerald Cup placing 1st this year blowing away the field with an incredible physique that was amazing to watch! Dustin made weight by 2/10ths of a pound and was able to carb up to bring in one of the most poppin’ physiques in all the bodybuilding classes! Ryan Wortman you’re my new hero.

Bodybuilding, Physique, Bikini Team Award

2013 team trophy
Winning both team awards this year was a goal and we accomplished it. The Figure Award was hotly contested with Tanji Johnson’s Save Fitness and we narrowly won by 1.5 points. The Bodybuilding Award was not as tight of a race as we had excellent balance of quality competitors across the divisions and classes. We will apply the prize money to the upcoming Team BBQ that will be held between prejudging and finals of the Oregon State contest on 6/29. All are welcome!

This was an amazing contest and continues to remind us that having a true team dynamic matters and makes a huge difference in the contest environment! When people ask how we do it the answer is the same – we are built with the right people who understand when you love the sport, the sport loves them back.

We will look to keep he good times rolling this week at the Empire Classic and the OR Ironman in 2 weeks where it is looking like we could have an Emerald kind of night!!

Good luck to all competitors competing next week! It’s going to be an epic contest!!

Team DreamQuest keeps things rolling at the NPC Big Sky!

Team DreamQuest was ON FIYAH this weekend at the NPC Big Sky, NPC Virgina, and IFBB Orlando competitions…lighting a fuse to the Emerald Cup explosion happening in 2 weeks at the nation’s biggest amateur show!

At NPC Big Sky, the team brought athletes from Idaho, Eastern Washington, and Montana to compete and have fun in Missoula, Montana! Show promoters Ivan and Erin Ribic produced another awesome show enjoyed by competitors and attendees.

2013 BS Damir

Damir Delić led the way by winning the Men’s Physique Overall award in a very tough line up! Damir has worked incredibly hard to streamline his physic as a result of his experience at Nationals last November, and those changes are starting to pay off!

2013 BS Zac

Zac Applebly placed 1st in Men’s Physique A class, bringing a much improved stage presence that will help him at the Emerald Cup. Ryan Harmon placed 4th in a very tough B class where everyone looked great. Bret Kalista and Tim Schmidt both had amazing body transformations to take the stage and will look to climb in to the top 5 in upcoming contests.

laura and sheia Big Sky

Laura Carl and Sheia Malmoe ended up battling it out against each other in the open Figure B class – which had the judges split with each receiving two 1st place votes. In the end, when the smoke cleared up, Laura placed 2nd by 1 pt and Sheia placed 4th as a result of a tie breaker for 3rd. Both Laura and Sheia will look to improve at the Emerald Cup :)

2013 Virginia Misty

On the east coast…Misty Palcios built onto her contest season taking 1st in a tough single class of Women’s Physique competitors! She will look to continue her winning ways rolling in to the OR Ironman in 4 weeks!

2013 Orlando Fran

Francesca is on a bikini campaign…breaking in to the Top 10 by placing 6th at the IFBB Orlando – only her second pro show! What a thrill to watch one of our DreamGirls take her game to the next level; making the necessary adjustments to succeed in the pros.

We cannot be more proud of the coast to coast team effort this weekend! Everyone’s performance has created mad momentum going into the Emerald Cup where our team will be bringing in 55 competitors ready to do what we do!

Onward!
